Become part of the German community and economy.
Start with a high standing in the community by owning Castle Klevenow. People know where you are from when you mention your house. It is easy to create contacts, and get them working with you, when you own a locally well known castle.
Anyone can buy property in Germany, with no restrictions on nationality of the owner. Before you buy the castle we will help you get in touch with civil servants, and other people, you need to know in order to help you fulfill your plans. In that way you can be sure that there are no surprising obstacles while adapting Klevenow to suit your needs.
There are many ways of making use of a unique place like Castle Klevenow. Here are a couple of examples:
1. Open a branch of your manufacturing company in Klevenow
On the border between Klevenow and the neighbouring city of Grimmen there is an industrial Zone called the Pommerndreieck. There are over 300 Hectares (3,000,000 square meters) of fresh, inexpensive industrial building space available right on the exit of a highway. This industrial zone is about 1000 meters from the castle; far enough to not hear it, but close enough to walk to it.
Since the reunification of East and West Germany in 1990 there has been investment in the area, but mainly in tourism, agriculture and the infrastructure. There has been little investment of former west German companies, who tend to invest in the area in which they are based. The former East German companies went bankrupt just after reunification and have disappeared. Local youth have had to emigrate to former west Germany to get a job in the last 20 years, although they would have prefered to stay at home (Germans usually do not like to move). This was also the holiday area in the former East Germany, and many Germans have fond childhood memories of this area. Large investments have already been made in improving the area for tourism, and the island of Ruegen has more visitors than any other German island on the North or Baltic seas. A company setting up here has an easy time recruiting workers, even with a high knowledge level in their field, because many would like to come home to where there family and friends live or live in a healthy, beautiful natural environment close to the ocean. Local government is thankful for every job created in the industrial sector, and help you where they can. This is an ideal spot to open a production plant or distribution center for the articles that you produce.
Castle Klevenow is the residence for guest workers from your home plant. They visit to exchange information with the German workers, who have built up the local plant. The German foremen also visit the plant in your country to do the same. German and non-German each build up business in their own country and exchange technology and information through your common ownership.
In the evening the guest workers go to castle Klevenow and spend time together in the common rooms for eating and spending time together. The owner of the company has an apartment, which is used when visiting with family and friends.
2. Student home for non-German students
Non-German students, who are enrolled in the Universities in the area, have a base to live and study together. These students could be family members, children of freinds or protoges of the company, who are chosen to work for the company on a long term. When these students get their degree they speak German and know enough about the German culture to work on bringing technology and people in Germany and your country closer together. It is a good method to set up business relations on a mid-term.
Castle Klevenow would be set up with common areas, including a library (with modern database rersearch over computers), kitchen, living rooms, cellar for the evening (in a 14th century arched brick basement!). The students could each have a combined bedroom and study and living room, with their own bathroom. Living here would create an atmosphere encouraging bonding between the students, most of whom would become friends for life. For students who feel outside this micro-community there is plenty of room to be on their own when they would like to. Later in life they would usually still feel bonded to the others, since the distance is easily and naturally maintained.
The University of Greifswald is a 20 minute drive away, as is the Stralsund University of Applied Sciences. The University of Greifwald is one of the oldest universities in Germany, having being founded in 1456. To get an idea of the area take a look at the internet film “Fachhochschule Stralsund EN” on the front page of the Stralsund University website.
These are just two of the many possibilities in a castle in a beautiful area of Germany. Use your imagination to answer the question “Why Castle Klevenow?” for yourself!
